Dotting is the art of using acryclic paint on stone to form a mosiac pattern. The Dotting Nurse is an actual nurse who learned this wonderful art technique that impresses many garden enthusiasts and farmer's market goers. Check out her store on Etsy. Mollywood Avian Sanctuary is located in Bellingham, WA. The Mollywood Avian Sanctuary's mission is to provide a permanent, safe and loving home and future for all psittacine species [hookbill parrots] that are free from contagious diseases. Birds are not offered for adoption from Mollywood. When appropriate, as often as possible, attempts are made to refer birds requiring re-homing to suitable new homes prior to their acceptance into Mollywood. Betsy Lott was even featured in the film, Wild Parrots Of Telegraph Hill.

At Nine Lives Rescue & Rehabilitation Support, we are committed to animals in need, providing them with things such as transport to loving foster homes/vet care/etc. , rescue coordination, agency interaction and more. We work tirelessly to ensure their transition to permanent families is as smooth as possible. We raise funds to help forever homes make their environments ready, safe & secure for these animals. This could be done with fencing, cages/kennels, and others. Our commitment to animal welfare has made a significant impact in the community, and we continue to work with humans and animals to make sure these creatures can live their best lives.

My First Bird Store is located in Spokane Valley, WA. They opened their store to the public November 2024 and specialize in selling smaller pet parrots like lovebirds, greencheeks and cockatiel babies.

One of the major areas of research carried out at HARI focuses on nutrition. Macaw Rescue and Sanctuary is owned and operated by Bob and Carol Dawson. They put hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money into the care of over 300 species of birds on their property including parrots, but not limited to parrots as Bob thoroughly loves waterfowl. He has recently registered the Sanctuary with USDA and has been routinely inspected by HSUS, USFWS, and others. Macaw Rescue and Sanctuary offers parrots a place to be parrots and no longer pets. They are housed outdoors with covered flights that allow parrots to do what they do naturally, socialize and fly.
Sir Willy’s was created so that we could continue doing what we love and spread the joy of feathered companionship through education and real-life demonstration. We maintain extensive knowledge regarding various species-specific grooming needs and have aided in the correction and maintenance of various beak deformities and injuries. Jim has been woodworking for over 40 years. He has been concerned about the environment since the 1970's. He began selling his work at the Puyallup Farmer's Market in the 80s. He was finally able to start a lifelong passion project when he retired after working as a Civil Engineer after 40 years. The founding of Splintered and Knotty allows Jim to blend his woodworking skills with his desire to reduce waste. Linda calls herself a Creative Aging Enthusiast. Her creative skills were nurtured at a young age sewing doll clothes; then sewing, knitting, or crocheting most of her own clothes, and designing costumes for college theater productions. Cooking gourmet meals and growing herbs and flowers have always been a passion.

For over 20 years, QPS has worked to better the lives of Quaker Parrots, in homes and in the wild. Through education, political and social action, and coming together as a community, QPS has brought a new awareness of these special birds to those who live with them. QPS also reaches out to those who misunderstand and persecute this intelligent bird. QPS RAPP helps many Quakers in difficult situations stay in their homes through education and behavior training, and for those Quakers who absolutely need to be put in new situations, QPS RAPP has successfully found new, permanent homes. The goals of the Quaker Parakeet Society shall be: To support the responsible keeping and breeding of Quaker Parakeets. To provide education on the care and habits of Quaker Parakeets in the home, aviary, and in the wild. To promote the survival and humane treatment of Quaker Parakeets in all environments and habitats.

​The Schubot Center for Avian Health is a multidisciplinary academic group dedicated to solving avian health problems through advanced research. Our mission is to improve the health of birds and the environments in which they live through research, teaching, and outreach. We support laboratory and field studies across Texas, the US, and international locations.

We’re engaged in studies designed to improve the health of both wild and captive birds, with research approaches that span genetics/genomics, infectious disease, epidemiology, parasitology, community science, and conservation science. Our members are also responsible for teaching students at different levels (undergraduate, graduate, DVM professional students) about avian health and conservation. Environmental health is a key component of the “One Health” focus of the VMBS.
